White Oak Pastures has achieved a Step 5+ Global Animal Partnership rating in cattle, hogs, chickens and turkeys, the only farm in the U.S. with a Step 5+ rating in all of the species with developed standards, the highest level of humane animal handling possible. Their plant was designed by Temple Grandin, a world-famous doctor of animal science and consultant to the livestock industry on animal behavior.
The farm and abattoirs at White Oaks Pastures are certified humane by four unique animal welfare organizations: Humane Farm Animal Care, Animal Welfare Approved, American Grassfed Association and Global Animal Partnership. They utilize the Serengeti Rotational Grazing Model, and all of their animals roam freely and breed naturally, with no injected hormones or antibiotics.
