The HYer-DYnamic Health Discoveries Yoga School (HY-DY Inc.) Shaping Shades of Gray is a comprehensive yoga-plus program that offers breath therapy, mediation techniques and conscious posturing to address the needs of individuals aged 55 to 75.

Program Director Dr. Naima Lewis teaches students how to apply yoga as a healing elixir during the pivotal years of aging gracefully. Sessions are designed for beginner yoga students in community classes and semi-private settings for those seeking a deeper and more personal experience. Lewis also trains yoga teachers in the specific knowledge and technique necessary to assist those in transformational years to achieve greater health and longevity.

  • Tuesdays 10:00-11:15 a.m. Mat, Wall & Standing Techniques. $5/class. Exchange Intergeneration Center, 2771 Columbia Rd., Decatur.
  • Tuesdays 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. Chair Yoga. $3/class. Calvin Crt. Senior Resident Center, 479 E. Paces Ferry, NE Atlanta, 30309.
  • Saturdays 10:30- 11:45 a.m. Yoga. $10/class. Ronald Bridges Center 5285 Lakeside Dr., Union City.

Small Group Intensives

Semi-private sessions (8) targeting participants’ specifics. Content: Yoga principles & practice such as stretching, strengthening, meditation, breath therapy, aerobic, nutrition and lifestyle management counseling.

Yoga Teacher Training

Yoga Alliance 200-hr yoga teacher certification course. Learn all the skills you will need to teach yoga to adults, with a unique approach and focus on the special needs of 55-75 year olds. CEUs approved. Cost sensitive quality programming. Next course starts in Feb. 2015. Register early to guarantee your spot.
