Calling All Makers of Things

It’s time again for makers to apply for Root City’s summer market, held  from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the day before Father’s Day, June 17, at Stove Works on Krog Street on the Beltline across from the Krog Street Market. Everyone making handmade goods is welcome to apply. Root City focuses on modern, handmade or custom items; no vintage or used goods. In an effort to provide variety, all makers complete the same application.

Jon Goode will return to walk participants through the Maker Talks, DJ Empress Rah will set the tone for the day and there will be food trucks–Doggy Dogg and Uncle Boo’s Catfish Corner–to serve up tasty treats.

Director Shannon Kroll says, “Sitting at the intersection of culture and commerce, we seek to create a destination experience through arts, makers, music and interactive projects so that communities can build and support the local economy.”

Cost to participate is $10; deadline is May 2. Tables and chairs are available for rent; upgrades available for premium placement and electrical hookup. For information and sign-up, visit Tinyurl.com/RootCityMakers.
