Reset with Restorative Yoga Workshop

The Marietta Center for Yoga and Well Being will offer Restorative Yoga for Back Care and Stress Release December 2 from 3 to 5 p.m. Wanda DeVaughn, LCSW, the center’s owner, director and teacher (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) 500) says the workshop will help participants turn off the stress response and allow their bodies to heal. Participants will practice breath work and restorative poses using props such as bolsters and blankets to release unhealthy holding patterns in the body, and use gravity and relaxation to heal the body. “This restorative yoga workshop is timely because we are all so busy around the holidays,” writes DeVaughn. “Taking the time to relax and restore in safe and supported yoga poses, led by an experienced yoga teacher, is deeply centering, allowing one to connect to what is truly important during the holiday season: to be with those you love in a way that enhances joy, closeness and gratitude.” Bev Stegman, RYT 200, will lead the workshop. Stegman owns and manages Foundation Therapy Center, an outpatient physical- and occupational-therapy provider in Roswell and Sandy Springs.

The workshop, to be held at the Marietta Center for Yoga and Well Being, 317 Alexander St. in Marietta, is $45 by November 21, $50 thereafter. For more information, visit MariettaYoga.com.
