Natural Awakenings Atlanta

New Kale Me Crazy Greens Up Alpharetta

Kale Me Crazy, a self-styled “superfoods café,” will open its new location at 50 Canton St. #101 in downtown Alpharetta on Jan. 1.

“The community is excited about us coming in,” says owner Phil Wahl, who also owns the Roswell location on Holcomb Bridge Road.

The company’s mission is to promote health and wellness by giving people an alternative to traditional fast food. Most items are organic and GMO free, and vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free selections make up most of the menu.

“We’re very conscious about doing the right thing. For example, all of our salad dressings are made from scratch. Nothing comes from a jar or a bottle. We’re totally focused on making it absolutely healthy.”

The business is a family affair. Phil’s son, Brendan von Wahl, is director of catering and serves businesses and some of the big movie studios in the area.

“We do cold-pressed juices and smoothies, and we get our fruits and veggies delivered every morning so they’re fresh for the day. We don’t sell to retailers or we’d have to add stabilizers, which compromise flavor. Our flavor combinations are very popular,” Phil says.

Kale Me Crazy is an Atlanta-based company with 10 locations throughout the city and plans to expand into other markets. The company’s founder, Roi Shlomo, also created Yogli Mogli Frozen Yogurts but created Kale me Crazy to offer healthier food options to the busy public.
