Natural Awakenings Atlanta

Captain Planet and CNC Team up for Kids’ Earth Day Fest

The Captain Planet Foundation will partner with the Chattahoochee Nature Center (CNC) in observance of Earth Day, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., April 13, where kids and their parents can enjoy fun and educational ways to connect with nature and support the planet. Captain Planet will be on hand to share his ‘superpowers’ with kids, along with Laughing Pizza, or LP, a family band starring in their own PBS show and performing across the country, which will lead the audience in song and dance.

Interactive booths and exhibits from local groups and environmental organizations will help kids learn ways to keep themselves and their planet healthy and happy. They can explore environmental themes that include clean water and air, wildlife and habitat protection, native plants, water conservation and recycling. CNC naturalists will lead live animal presentations, and families can top off the day with a peaceful canoe ride on Beaver Pond in the event sponsored by the Macy’s Foundation.

Location: 9135 Willeo Rd., Roswell. Cost is $10 adults/$6 children (2 and under free). Ride a bike from home for free admission. More information at Chattahoochee.org, e-mail [email protected] or call 770-992-2055 ext. 236.
