Natural Awakenings Atlanta

Atlanta Streets Alive Salutes Pedestrians

The streets of five Atlanta neighborhoods will close to cars and open to pedestrians for the fifth annual Atlanta Streets Alive from 2 to 6 p.m., September 28, with a goal to reduce dependence on auto traffic, increase physical activity, promote connectivity, mobility and livability among Atlanta’s varied neighborhoods and increase cultural and artistic endeavors. People of all ages can join the street cruise on foot, bicycle or skates for a five-mile loop covering North Highland, Boulevard, Highland and North Avenue. Free activities along the way include tango, hula-hooping, break dancing and other physical activities.
