Powerful Healing Music for Yourself and the World

The sounds we listen to can be beneficial on every level; physically, mentally, emotional and spiritually. Some can have very profound effects. Studies have proven nature sounds can relax us and be beneficial to sleep, focus and blood pressure. Healthy music can do the same. Artists have produced songs and instrumental tracks that are common in spas, healing sessions, massage therapy and now offices, hotels, clinics and other businesses, as well. Examples of these are healing music produced by Steven Halpern, Craig Pruess, Jim Oliver, Michael S. Tyrrell and others.

The most powerful healing music though is that which is thousands of years old. These pieces of music involve a certain pronunciation of specific words or phrases. These are called “seed sounds”. The seed sounds are compiled in mantras, slokas, prayers and sankirtanas (kirtan). The healthiest, most peaceful and successful cultures in the world use these in their music, including Hinduism, Buddism and others.

The words and sounds used in their music are very intentional and careful to offer correct enunciation for beneficial energy. The vibration of this energy provides benefits to both the physical body (seen) and subtle bodies (unseen). The instruments played, such as the tamboura, also provide a benefit as they are some of the earliest known that provide special sounds.

The ultimate examples of healing music include the Sri Mrutyunjaya Mantra, the Gayatri Mantra, the Lalita Sahasranama and the Sri Devi Khadga Mala. The most accurate and beneficial music is offered by Amma Sri Karunamayi, of India. She has created CDs and the books of the music to follow along with for the highest benefit. Some also offer explanation and guidance to learn the proper way to speak the words for chanting or singing along and an explanation of the vast array of benefits (

The titles Devi, Sri Chakra and others are also names used in reference to the divine mother, known and honored by all cultures. The power of this music resonates in such a way that it not only benefits us, but also our family, and provides planetary healing. While we help ourselves, we are also helping the world.
