The city of Mountain Park, once a Native American destination for healing spring water, will celebrate Earth Day from noon to 4 p.m., April 22, abutting two scenic lakes and filled with eco-friendly and family-friendly crafters and entertainers.

Children’s authors Lola Schaefer and Rosalind Bunn will read their latest works on The Village Green, followed by kids’ Q&A and a writers’ workshop. Local resident Dale Hicks will serve as the DJ, hosting musicians of all levels that want to take the mic for a song or short set.

Green vendors include Fair Trade Boutique, Green Globe Travel, Norwex, Mountain Park Forge and 2nd Life Pallet Rescue.

Admission is free. Location: 100 Lakeshore Dr., Mountain Park. Walking and biking to the event are encouraged. Additional parking is available at Mountain Park Elementary School. For more information, visit MountainPark-GA.gov.
