Lavender Festival Is in the Air 

The herb that has scented clothes and people for thousands of years will be celebrated at the seventh annual Roswell Lavender Festival, to be held on the grounds of historical Barrington Hall from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 10.

More than 60 vendors will sell soaps, oils, cosmetics, food and art revolving around the purple-flowered plant. The festival will showcase home remedies and cooking demonstrations with hourly lavender food samples, including lavender chocolate bark, lavender marshmallows and peach lavender popsicles, held on the hour from noon to 2 p.m.

There will be musical entertainment, crafts activities including fairy-house building and lavender-wand making. Children can enjoy music with Mr. Tony and storytelling by the Lavender Fairy.

Live music and yoga and meditation sessions will be offered throughout the day starting at 10 a.m. Food trucks will be available.

Admission is free. Barrington Hall is located at 535 Barrington Dr., Roswell, Ga. No parking at the festival, but free parking will be offered at Roswell Presbyterian Church on 755 Mimosa Blvd. with shuttle service. For more information, visit RoswellGov.com or call 770-640-3855.
