Natural Awakenings Atlanta

King of Pops Yoga Attracts Sunday Crowds

Nearly 200 people routinely gather for King of Pops (KOP) Yoga Sundays in a field near the Historic Fourth Ward Skate Park.

King of Pops, the Southern purveyor of natural popsicles with original flavors like Banana Caramel, has been hosting KOP Yoga in the field since 2013. KOP employee Charlie Graham started the event with a small gathering of employees.

“Over time people started to notice and expressed an interest in our weekly yoga session,” publicist Diego Torres writes in a recent email. “Charlie and one of our founders saw an opportunity to do something for our community so they teamed up and our weekly yoga class gained popularity turning into our weekly Free KOP Yoga at the Park. We’re so happy to be able to provide something active and fun for our community because they’ve done so much for us.”

And according to their website, King of Pops is just around the corner for an after-yoga cool-down.

The all-level sessions, held 7 p.m. Sundays through October next to the skate park at 830 Willoughby Way NE, Atlanta, 30312, are now taught by Rachelle Knowles as Graham moved out of the state. For more information, visit KingOfPops.com.
