Bring It Om Opens in Marietta

Bring It Om Power Yoga held the grand opening for its 1,600-square-foot facility in late August.

Located at 3162 Johnson Ferry Road in Marietta, Bring It Om offers more than 40 classes a week for children, teens, adults and seniors. The most popular, according to owner Karen Patton RYS-200, is a class called Yoga Virgins.

“A lot of potential clients are intimidated by heat [in hot yoga classes], Sanskrit and skinny, fit women,” says Patton. “It’s amazing how many people are hungry for it [Yoga Virgins]. These are, hands down, our busiest classes, and we’ve already added more to the schedule.”

Patton’s former career, sales and management, required a lot of travel. She had been doing yoga for 20 years when she divorced, after which she took yoga teacher training at Empower Yoga.

“I started thinking about a studio a year ago,” she says. “I enjoy community and wanted to do something that embraced community.” She started looking for a location in Roswell because she thought there was a need there, but when the current location appeared, the deal was too good to refuse. Another benefit: Patton practically lives next door to the new studio.

In establishing her studio where she did, Patton may have tapped into an unmet need. Unlike some in-town areas where there are a number of studios quite close to each other, Bring It Om, and a nearby studio that offers just a handful of classes a week are over three miles away from the next closest studio.

Through October 31, Bring It Om is running an annual membership special for $995 instead of the regular $1,250. For more information, visit BringItOmPowerYoga.com.
