Summer Solstice Celebration

What you nourish in your life will flourish.

The summer solstice occurs when the Sun reaches its highest position in the sky and is the day with the longest period of daylight. 2023, this will occur on Wednesday, June 21st. The word “solstice” comes from the Latin words “sol” (sun) and “stitium” (still or stopped). The ancients noticed that as summer progressed, the sun stopped moving northward in the sky and then begins to track southward again as summer turned to autumn.

Traditionally, people gather with family and friends to celebrate the return of light, sunlight, life, fertility, and the potential for a good harvest at midsummer on the summer solstice.

Join practitioner Raye Andrews as we welcome in summer with a celebration of our own. We will gather on Tuesday, June 20 at 6:30pm to honor the summer solstice as an act of reciprocity and gratitude: what you nourish in your life will flourish. This event will include a tea ceremony, discussion, journaling time and a sound experience in the salt cave. $44
