Natural Awakenings Atlanta

Letter From Publisher

What I like most about change is that it’s a synonym for ‘hope.’ If you are taking a risk, what you are really saying is, ‘I believe in tomorrow and I will be part of it.’

- Linda Ellerbee

“Honey, who shrunk my Natural Awakenings?” This month, as a bow to Mother Earth and conservation of its precious resources, we condensed the magazine a bit. But, never fear, all the great calendar events and articles that wouldn’t fit in the magazine are now online, plus additional local healthy and green living events and information we learn about too late to publish in the print edition. Now, with our new website, we can share and be a tad greener, too.

Some important things to find online now are the complete daily and ongoing calendar of events (only highlights are in print), global briefs, health briefs, eco-tips and action alerts. Plus, the following May feature articles are only on the web: “Seeking Soulmates Online,” by Kim Childs, “Listening to Inner Wisdom,” by Dr. Judith Orloff, and “Outdoor Options for Cats,” by Sandra Murphy.

Reading Natural Awakenings now is a little like eating an Oreo cookie (or rather a healthier Newman’s Own Organics Newman-O’s vanilla crème cookie). There are many ways to do it, but the most famous is to crack open the cookie and eat the creamy middle first, leaving the chocolaty outside for last. The print magazine is like the creamy middle and the website, replete with an automated newsfeed, is the chocolaty wafer. How it’s consumed is truly optional.

So, we encourage you to visit us online this month at naAtlanta.com. Look around. Leave comments. Share articles. Ask questions. Report how an article affected your life or changed your thinking. Be a healthy living information activist and get involved in improving our website by suggesting how we can make it better, recommending articles and especially reporting any problems (it is new, after all).

And, if the idea of having great, new healthy and green living content available all month long is exciting, sign up for our newsletter and get weekly news and events delivered to your email.
