Keynote speaker Laura Turner Seydel will set the tone for the third annual U.S. Zero Waste Business Council (USZWBC) conference in May 2014, at the Westin Buckhead. 2009 saw the launch of Zero Waste Zones (ZWZ) in Atlanta, garnering national media attention. In 2012 the National Restaurant Association acquired the ZWZ, making them stewards of zero waste practices.

Atlanta serves as the pilot city for development of a metro-wide plastic film recycling template that wil be showcased at the 2013 USZWBC conference.
