Aromatherapy for the Month of Love and Inner Peace
Feb 01, 2026 06:00AM ● By Roz Zollinger
The New Year has long symbolized an opening to begin again and to set intentions for the months ahead. It also arrives during a season of cold, gray days, when nature gently encourages slowing down, resting and turning inward. This quieter rhythm creates space for reflection, balance, and renewal and calls attention to inner peace.
In times of turmoil and rapid change, finding ways to cultivate inner peace can feel more essential than ever. Many people are living with heightened anxiety, depression and even anger—often arising from a sense of helplessness or emotional exhaustion. And, as humanity steps into 2026, one might feel an invitation to pause and return to what truly sustains us: love.

It is within this context that aromatherapy takes on deeper meaning. Essential oils, the primary therapeutic medium of aromatherapy, have been valued for centuries and were once an integral part of traditional healing practices. By the late 1600s and 1700s, particularly in France—already renowned for its mastery of perfumery—medical practitioners began formally studying essential plant oils for their therapeutic qualities. These early explorations highlighted their pain-relieving, soothing, calming, and medicinal properties, laying the foundation for modern aromatherapy as a holistic support for well-being. Many churches and temples have embraced oils, such as Frankincense and Myrrh, which are thought to help meditation and prayer.
The blends below can gently assist with these intentions. As you move through February and beyond, may these blends serve as gentle reminders to slow down, breathe deeply and reconnect with what matters most. Love is powerful. Peace is contagious. And it all begins within.
